The 4M Carbon Fiber, RMX Technologies, and C.A. Litzler team (pictured here) kicked off the design of the Product Development Line in July. The team has been working independently on elements of the design for several months and came together to finalize design parameters, define critical interfaces, and discuss key schedule elements. While Litzler and RMX will primarily focus on the plasma oxidation oven and preparation for commercial-scale construction and operation, they will also have input into the design, manufacture, construction, and commissioning of the integrated carbon fiber production line.
Mike Agentis, 4M Vice President for Projects, said, “It was important that we have the team around the table now to define some key interfaces and initiate discussion of the relationships between design, manufacturing, and operations.”
The team continues ongoing communication and discussions with the extended commercialization team as site selection, environmental permitting, and fiber identification progress.
